Would a Fork Lift certification including both Class 4 & 5 fixed mast and Class 7 all terrain certification look good on your list of job skills, or how about both Aerial Boom and Scissor Lift certification?

Each year, the professional Sunbelt Rentals’ team brings their expertise and equipment to the Safety Expo so that you can earn that certification. How about “refresher” training? If you’re already proficient with this equipment, but it has been years since you have participated in formal training, here is your opportunity to strengthen your job skills!

Sunbelt Rentals is providing training for both the Forklift Class 4,5 & 7, and for the Aerial Boom and Scissor Lift sessions on each of the three days of the 2010 Safety Expo March 30 – April 1st - these sessions have limited class attendance capacities on how many participants can be certified each day – to reserve your space in one of the sessions, please visit www.sacsafetyexpo.com which will take you directly to the event registration form.

If you have any questions on how to register or about the specifics of these very popular certification sessions, please contact: Jim Neely – 916-442-8991 or jneely@sbxchange.net

Who Is Signing My “Certificate of Completion?”

The choice of who will sign your “Certificate of Completion” is based on three criteria. First, the person must be a member in good standing on the Safety Advisory Committee; second, the signatory must have shown a high level of participation in the Annual Expo; third, this person must exemplify their involvement in safety with the company they represent.

Nick Cloud, Northern Pacific Safety Director, The McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. was our first signatory for the 2006 and 2007 Expos.

Dana Lahargoue, Corporate Safety Director, Roebbelen, Inc. signed your certificates for the 2008 and 2009 Expos.

This year we are proud to announce that Bud Shope, Principal, General Superintendent & Safety Coordinator, ASCENT Builders, Inc. will be signing your certificates for the 2010 Safety Expo.

The awarding of the 2010 Safety Expo “Certificate of Completion” is one of the most important processes that will take place at the Expo. In order to receive your “Certificate” you must be present during the workshop or training. This training certificate can become a very important part of your training file with your employer, therefore we take the entire process very seriously including who actually signs your certificate.

During these tough economic times, employers are faced with many challenges. An unhealthy economy can foster a sense of uncertainty relative to organizational sustainability, not to mention providing for organizational growth due to the decline of new business opportunities. Today, many employers have tightened their belts and made significant sacrifices’ in an effort to weather the storm ahead. Today, “doing more with less” has become synonymous for many employers. One of the challenges here forces employers to demonstrate having the ability to meet client expectations with workers who are highly trained and skilled at their craft.

“Training and education is a fundamental cornerstone to any successful organization. However, during periods of economic decline, employers are challenged to maintain existing training levels while coping with shrinking budgets. As such, employers should welcome the training opportunities provided by the Safety Expo. No one else comes close to delivering so many quality classes at an affordable price. One price and unlimited access to all 3-days. When compared to other providers, I can send three employee’s to the Safety Expo for the same cost as sending one person to a conventional training seminar.

Considering the challenge to stretch every dollar, the Safety Expo provides the greatest return on our training investment dollar…”

For Immediate Release

Construction Industry’s Sixth Annual Statewide Safety Expo to be Held in Sacramento March 30 – April 1

2010 Program to Provide More Than 140 Sessions Addressing Safety & Construction Management Training; Featuring a Special Forum on Crisis Management

SACRAMENTO, Feb. 11, 2010 – The 2010 Safety Expo, an annual conference dedicated to bringing California’s construction industry the latest education and training on safety and construction management, will be held Mar. 30 – Apr. 1 at Cosumnes River College in Sacramento. Presented by the Construction Industry Education Foundation (CIEF) in partnership with the Sacramento Regional Builders Exchange, the event will feature more than 140 sessions and is open to all in the construction industry profession.

In its sixth consecutive year, the Safety Expo is dedicated to providing safety/health education, training and resources. The Expo provides a unique platform for professionals to gather and share information and assistance beyond the building and construction trades to other industry segments: municipalities, water and waste utilities, and other entities that require safety-related training.

“Training and education is a fundamental cornerstone to any successful organization; however, we understand that during periods of economic decline, employers are challenged to maintain existing training levels while coping with shrinking budgets,” said Nick Cloud, safety director for McCarthy Building Companies, Inc.’s Northern Pacific Division and Safety Expo council member. “The Safety Expo provides employers with an exceptional three-day forum of quality classes at an affordable price. When compared to other providers, a company can send three employees to the Expo for the same cost as sending one person to a conventional training seminar.”

Sessions featured in the three-day event will address the following education tracks: compliance certification, construction safety and management, green building and welding, amongst others. Additionally, Expo partner Public Equipment Managers Association will lead seminars on mechanical/technical training. The event will include an industry trade show, complimentary to all Expo attendees.

The Safety Expo will also feature a special VIP Forum, “You Can’t Plan for a Crisis While You’re Having One,” presented by Marv Rockford and Steve Gray, principals with Rockford Gray, who specialize in crisis management. The forum will be held in conjunction with the Expo event on Wednesday, March 31 for an additional fee. This session requires advance registration and will be geared towards senior executives and project managers who are typically at the forefront in a crisis situation.

To register, industry professionals are encouraged to visit the Expo website at: www.sacsafetyexpo.com. The cost to attend the event for all three days is $50.00.

The Safety Expo prides itself on being able to provide compliance certification workshops each year. These sessions provide either special certification/recognition cards or extended training designed to enhance the level of training for the participant. The Forklift class 4, 5 & 7, the Aerial Scissor and Boom Lift, and the Basic CPR 1st Aid for Adults are perennial favorites. The OSHA 10-Hour Outreach certification has a limit of fifty participants and fills quickly. For 2010, we have added the new Cal/OSHA 10-Hour to expand on the Cal/OSHA 8 Hour Combo which has been well attended these past three years. The Competent Person Excavation training and the Accident Investigation – lengthier and more in-depth sessions always receive excellent reviews and a good attendance. Most of these session fill very quickly because of there special status in training. We encourage you to register early for the best selection.
