2011 Safety Expo Success — Thanks to our community of employers, sponsors, exhibitors, instructors/trainers, equipment owners and the partnership by the Public Equipment Managers Association (PEMA) who support the event, the 2010 Safety Expo was a success.
Everyone in the industry is feeling the pains associated with what some are calling the ‘biggest recession’ since the Great Depression. While there are indications that the economy is on the path to recovery, industry professionals suggest that construction will continue to struggle in the foreseeable future. Despite these tough economic times, employers recognize the importance of education and training by sending more than 1,000 workers to the 2010 Safety Expo.
Expo Presenters/Trainers/Instructors — Due to the overwhelmingly positive numbers of attendees, we are extremely fortunate to have access to the industries best trainers and educators. Each of the more than 60 trainers volunteers their services for the three-day event – it is without a doubt that their continued commitment and support of this event is the cornerstone of our success. Returning speakers are now invited to submit session topics for the 2011 Safety Expo starting in August and September for the 7th annual event program curriculum. In the six-year history of the event, close to 6,000 attendees have registered in more than 14,000 sessions presented by 350 presenters and trainers. If everyone who attends the Statewide Safety Training & Construction Management Expo is taken into account, volunteers, exhibitors, monitors, and speaker assistants, more than 9,000 individuals have participated in the past six years. Plans are now currently underway to begin the presenter and session curriculum process in order to prepare for the registration marketing, promotion and printed materials available in late Fall.
The VIP Forum — presented by the Denver based firm of Rockford Gray informed an audience of attendees made up of safety professionals; including company owners, senior leaders and managers. This forum included group sessions where the audience participated in a press capacity in mock media interviews and worse case scenarios. The Forum topic session was extremely well-received, and we appreciate and thank Rockford Gray for their time and expertise which they provided to enthusiastic Forum attendees.
Safety Expo Trade Show — The 2010 Expo offered a complimentary trade show that exceeded expectations by filling each of the available booths. The one-day trade show was held on Wednesday, March 31 inside the campus small gymnasium. Exhibiting companies that participated in 2010:
