OSHA Top Safety Violations for 2009

Second 5* of the OSHA Top 10 Safety Violations for 2009

OSHA has released its preliminary list of the top 10 most frequent workplace safety violations for 2009.  The number of violations in the top 10 increased almost 30% over the same time period in 2008.  The 2nd Five Violations are:

  1. Electrical (wiring): 3,079
  2. Ladders: 3,072
  3. Powered industrial trucks (forklifts): 2,993
  4. Electrical: 2,556
  5. Machine Guarding: 2,364

Three topics that deal with Electrical (wiring) and Electrical: Mike Donlon-Cal/OSHA Research and Standards, Don’t Get Shocked: Electrical Safety For Construction and  both Mark Aniello-ECR, OSHA 10; and Bob Downey-RED Safety Consulting, Cal/OSHA 10-Hour Hazard Awareness For Construction.

One very special workshop on Ladders: Andy Bull-CH Bull and Company, Ladder Safety.

Class 4 & 5 Powered Industrial Trucks (Forklift) – each day of the Expo:  Ken Howarth-Sun Belt Rentals, Class 4 & 5 Forklift Certification; there will also be a Class 7 Forklift (non-industrial) on each day.
